In the broad spectrum of Sauvignon Blanc flavor profiles, Angeline is low on the grapefruit scale. It's more melon and citrus with a hint of grassiness. The texture is pleasantly creamy without losing its varietal zip. In other words, it's one version of the all-purpose, all-occasion white wine that's always a good fit but never gets boring. This could be due to the pedigree of the fruit source (the hallowed Russian River Valley) and the knowhow of the wine-making team (of legendary parent winery Martin Ray). But we're not asking how or why, just "how much can we get?". At this price we'll need plenty. Pairings: Pasta with olive oil, caramelized onions and goat cheese or a French/Camobodian rice dish would play nice with Angie. Crack a screwcap tonight!
