WHY WE LIKE IT - This is from a cuvee that Peter Weygandt pesonally selected, so the wine is a stunning value that offers great complexity and balance for such a price.
TASTING NOTES - On the nose, sprawling aromas of black cherry and other dark fruit, with notes of vanilla and spice. Deep, lush, and fruit-driven on the palate, with fine tannins making their presence felt on the back end. A lovely, lingering, spice-tinged finish.
PRODUCTION NOTES - 100% Tempranillo, vine age 35 years
WINEMAKING: Sustainably farmed, all hand harvested, vinified with indigenous yeasts, and aged 6 months in second year french oak barrels.
PARK PLACE SOMMELIER PAIRING - Pair with grilled/roasted meats, poultry with an herbal/savory preparation, hearty soups and stews. Try with Herb Roasted Chicken and Sauteed Portobello Mushrooms.
