Distilled at the revered La Alteña distillery, producing tequila of the highest quality using handcrafted processes since 1937. The cooked agave plants are crushed using a Tahona, a large stone wheel, with the resulting juice and agave fibers mixed in a barrel by foot before fermentation and distillation. Tapatio is double distilled to as close to bottle strength as possible so that the Tequila retains as much of its natural character as possible. A great example of a traditional blanco, it is rested for two months in stainless steel tanks post distillation and prior to bottling. Huge and peppery, with a rush of white pepper, clove, and cinnamon. A refreshing agave sweetness follows, with black tea, apples, floral notes, and a touch of creaminess. Long finish, with gentle sweetness appearing as the pepper fades.
