Rumors of the death of Merlot are greatly exaggerated. Sourced almost entirely from the Hinterland Vineyard in North Paso, this Merlot has a classic claret character. Black tea, northland blueberries and cocoa drive the aromatics. The silky texture slides gracefully across the palate leaving behind hints of sweet plums, warm cedar planks, and freshly ground spices. Dense and chewy on the palate, this is the Merlot that makes Cab drinkers think twice about their favorite grape.
