Weingut Von Winning in Deidesheim, Germany has established itself as one of the regions stars, pushing the quality envelop with their single vineyard Rieslings and dry "Grosses Gewachs" (essentially Germany’s answer to the French Grand Cru) expressions of Riesling: auspicious offerings that cost a pretty penny to procure. These are great wines to be sure, but are cost prohibitive in a category too often misunderstood; Von Winning needed an entry level wine to showcase the boundless potential of their native Pfalz. “Winnings” was born: a feinherb (formerly halbtrocken) Riesling with just a touch of residual sugar and plenty of acidity to balance it out. This delicate, succulent, and fruit forward (but not sweet) Riesling really delivers the Von Winning signature without the hefty price tag! Food Pairings: Green Curry Chicken, Crab Tempura, Broccoli and Apple Salad with Cider Vinegar
